Silver medal at 9th Annual New York International Spirits Competition 2018

The quality of Sierakow Superior Vodka has been two times acknowledged by judges at the 9th Annual New York International Spirits Competition 2018. Sierakow Superior Vodka won a Silver Medal and also been announced as the Poland Vodka of the Year. The contest was held in heart of Manhattan in April of 2018. Close to 600 spirits from around the world competed in a blind tasting where top spirits buyers from around the New York metropolitan area judged the products by their category and price.

The International Beverage Competitions are the first major international beverage competitions that feature trade-only judges who decide by category and actual price. They consist of people who are buyers from top retail stores, restaurant and bar owners, distributors, and importers.  Unlike other competitions, these judges have purchasing power and the ability to make a direct impact on brand sales. The second major difference in these competitions is that each submission will not only be placed in its product category — but also its pricing category. Therefore, a spirit will be judged in its category along with other spirits in its same price range by its retail price. Each category will have its own pricing levels and is listed on the submission form.

At the start of each segment of the judging program, all the judges will be presented with an overview of the category along with the nuances particular to each subset.  They will be informed on what price range they will be judging. The judges this year will also be given the retail price of each spirit they are judging. As buyers they consistently make purchasing decisions not only on the spirit itself but by its price.

Brands will be rated on a set of criteria including appearance, aroma, taste, mouthfeel and finish.   Upon completion of the tastings, panelists will confer and decide which samples are award-worthy. Award levels are Double Gold, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. All Double Gold award winners will be re-tasted by the panelists to establish which brands may be eligible to receive a 'Best of Category' endorsement in its pricing category.

Dom Wina wins Silver for Vodka Sierakow Manor Elderberry and Bronze for Vodka Sierakow Manor Superior and Vodka Sierakow Manor Pepper in the 2015 International Wine and Spirit Competition.

Dom Wina Group is delighted to announce being awarded one silver and two bronze awards in the 2015 International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) for Vodka Sierakow Manor Elderberry, Vodka Sierakow Manor Superior and Vodka Sierakow Manor Pepper.

Founded in 1969, the IWSC is considered to be the most prestigious competition of its kind in the world. The awards given by the IWSC are believed to be among some of the highest honours in the wine & spirits industry.

Judging for the Competition is unique and has two stages. First part is a blind tasting by pre-poured, numbered glasses (judges never see a bottle). Tasting panels consist of over 300 fully experienced and qualified industry judges. In the second stage products which receive the top medals are subject to technical analysis before results are released. This crucial stage ensures that winners receive a complete validation.
